About Shining Star“In the early ‘80s at dance school, I was stretching when I asked a fellow dancer about her skirt she was wearing for her pas de deux. It was beautiful and different form all the other skirts” says Shining Star’s designer Jon Murata. “I was truly inspired by that skirt and wanted to create my version.” Twenty-five years passed, many of which Murata worked as fashion designer in the industry, when this dream came to fruition. With the advent popularity of dancing on television and in the media, and with people’s renewed interest in dancing, “this is the time!”

A Shining Star is bornShining Star is born out of a love, a tribute to the memory of a 25 year old skirt and the lyrical stories of dancing.
